Tibetan Handicraft Centre

With the decline in the number of children at the Tibetan Homes Foundation, the staff size also needed to be reduced. To continue providing employment and livelihood for the home fathers, the "Tibetan Handicraft Centre" was established, replacing the Vocational Training Centre, which had closed due to a lack of new admissions.

The Tibetan Handicraft Centre employs the home fathers, who spend their days producing various items such as noodles, school uniforms for destitute children, traditional guitars (Dranyen), cultural costumes, thangkas, modern paintings, and souvenirs etc. The primary focus of the center is on creating cultural and traditional products, with the goal of preserving Tibetan heritage. The center is led by a supervisor who oversees the male staff working there.
