Assistant General's Secretary Message

Tibetan Homes Foundation (THF) was established over 62 years ago by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama with the noble vision of providing basic family care, education and essential support to Tibetan children who were then in urgent need. The vision that was rooted in compassion and foresight has eventually blossomed into a remarkable institution that has nurtured thousands of children caring for their education, holistic development and emotional well-being. THF has been instrumental in shaping self-reliant individuals who not only contribute to Tibet’s freedom struggle but also make meaningful contributions to humanity at large.

The journey of the past six decades has been challenging. Yet, with the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the guidance of our successive esteemed Governing Body Members, our predecessors have achieved remarkable milestones. What we have accomplished today stands as a testament to their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to our mission. This legacy now rests in the hands of those of us who serve this foundation and it is our collective responsibility to carry it forward with utmost sincerity and dedication.

Through this magazine, I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors and donors for their unwavering support. Your generosity has been crucial in helping our children realize their dreams. Without your help, we would not have come this far. We will always remain indebted to you for your invaluable contributions, which have been instrumental in enabling us to thrive all these years. The significant contribution of our alumni too cannot go unnoticed. Many of them have stepped forward to give back by sponsoring our children and supporting various projects.
