At Tibetan Homes Foundation, our administrative structure is designed to ensure effective governance and smooth operation, guided by our commitment to academic excellence, social responsibility, cultural preservation and community service. Our hierarchy is divided into two primary governing bodies: the Governing Body and the Management Committee. These entities work together to steer the institution toward its goals while maintaining transparency and accountability.
To ensure smooth collaboration and better coordination between the Management Committee and the Governing Body, three key representatives from the Management Committee also serve as members of the Governing Body. These representatives include the General Secretary, who acts as the Chairperson of the Management Committee, the Assistant General Secretary, and the Finance Officer. This arrangement fosters effective communication and ensures that both bodies work closely together for efficient decision-making and operations.
The Governing Body represents the highest level of authority, responsible for shaping the strategic direction and overall vision of the institution. The Governing Body ensures that the institute stays true to its mission and visions as set by His Holiness the XIVthDalai Lama, upholds its core values, and makes decisions that contribute to its long-term success. The Governing body members are appointed on the ex-officio.
The Management Committee is responsible for running the daily activities of the Tibetan Homes Foundation, ensuring everything works smoothly and efficiently. Its primary role is to put into action the strategies and policies outlined in the THF Rule Book, along with the time to time guidance from the Governing Body, making sure all activities align with the Foundation’s mission and goals.
Led by the General Secretary, the Management Committee plays an important role in making sure the institute runs efficiently and meets the needs of the family of the Tibetan Homes Foundation. The General Secretary leads the team, ensuring high standards in management and helping the Foundation grow, succeed and sustain.
The committee does more than just handle daily tasks. It creates an environment where students can succeed academically, culturally, and personally. This includes managing resources, maintaining infrastructure, and supporting staff so the Foundation operates effectively as a whole.
The committee members are chosen ex-officio, meaning they are part of the committee because of their roles in the organization. This setup ensures that key leaders are directly involved in decision-making, promoting smooth communication and teamwork across all areas of the family of the Tibetan Homes Foundation.
The Management Committee balances long-term planning with daily responsibilities to keep the Foundation a place of care, education, and cultural preservation. Their dedication to effective management and community support plays a vital role in the Foundation’s success and sustainability. They continue to uphold the mission and vision set by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
