Head office of the Tibetan Homes Foundation is situated in the outskirts of Mussoorie and the area is referred to as a Happy Valley. Is has one main office headed by General Secretary followed by different sections to effectively cater to the needs of  children at THF as a whole.

 Functioning of Head Office

Education: It is a senior secondary school with classes from Nursery to Class – XII divided into four different sections for better management. Montessori section, junior section, senior school section and Special classes.

Homes: Children under care at Tibetan Homes Foundation, Mussoorie were distributed in 29 larger homes looked after by a couple parent. Each home comprises of 40 to 45 children.

SOS Children’s Home: SOS children’s home is specially designed for those children who are either orphan or semi-orphan and needs a special care. We have “11-SOS homes” with 10 to 12 children in each SOS home.

Hostels: Boys and girls hostel are the two hostels where our students studying from grade XI and XII stays.

Vocational Training Centre: Students who are academically weaker and interested in Arts and Tailoring are centered in our Vocational Training centre.

Health Care centre: Tibetan Homes Foundation, Mussoorie have one small health care centre with 6 para-medical staff and a residence doctor.

How to reach Mussoorie:
Mussoorie is the quintessential Brisitish hill station in the Himalayas situated at a lofty height of 2,500 meters. With its alluring tourist recluse of invigorating mountain air, the hill station is a very popular tourist recluse of North India.

By Air: The nearest airport is the “Jolly Grant Airport” in Dehradun, which is about 58 kms away from Mussoorie. Regular flights operate between Dehradun and Delhi. After reaching the airport, one can either board a taxi or take a bus to reach Mussoorie.

By Train: The nearest railhead is located in Dehradun, 34 km from Mussoorie. It connects Dehradun to important cities like Delhi, Bombay, Amritsar, Varanasi etc. Shatabdi Express is the most convenient option, if one plans its trip from Delhi to Dehradun by train.

By Road: Mussoorie is well connected by road to nearby towns and cities. Regular bus service is available from Delhi, Dehradun and other nearby cities. Delhi is at a distance of 269 km from Mussoorie. One can either board a regular bus service that runs between Delhi-Dehradun or hire a taxi directly to reach Mussoorie.

When to visit Mussoorie: Mussoroie is a hill station that has pleasant climate around the year. The best season to visit Mussoorie is between “April to June” and again during “September to November”. Mussoorie is situated at an altitude of “7000 feet” above sea level.
