In THF we cater to Tibetan children in need. Primarily there are two different sections from where children are admitted.

The first category of children are the orphans, semi-orphans and destitute Tibetan children living in different Tibetan settlements here in India. These children approach THF through their respective settlement welfare

offices and every year before the new session of the school begins they are admitted into THF. For a more genuine selection of the needy children, the office visits every child’s home in the settlements and assesses the actual condition of each individual. In emergency cases the children of this group are admitted during the middle of the school session.

The second category of children are the New Arrivals From Tibet. In this section we receive children from the Office of the Tibetan Reception Centre in Dharamsala and Delhi, working under the Tibetan Government in exile. Presently, majority of the children under THF belong to this category. These are children who have left their

homes in Tibet and have risked their lives escaping from Tibet in search of a better living and education. The number of children admitted yearly under this group is un-limited and the admission doors for them are open throughout the year, as children under this group cannot be turned down.
