Aim and Objective:

Aims and objectives of the Alumni Desk are as under:

To enter into a partnership between Tibetan Homes Foundation and its alumni to promote over all interest of the institute so as to enable it to continue its mission as envisaged by the founding father.

So far, the success with which Tibetan Homes Foundation has been able to help the needy children not only in providing quality school education but also supporting their university education through our Higher studies and Outreach programme by bearing the expenses related to their lodging and college fees is solely due to the kind financial assistance we have been receiving from the funding organisations, friends and supportive individuals. While thanking them for their kind help, it is acutely felt that there is an urgent need for us to think of a long term plan to build the institute like the way an ant community builds its home. Tibetan Homes Foundation must become a self-sustaining institute so as to be able to continue its mission even without the current level of financial help from outside sources.

We should plan to be able to think of ourselves being able to pay back one day by including needy children from other communities as beneficiaries of Tibetan Homes Foundation.

While collectively concentrating on how to take the Tibetan Homes Foundation to higher heights, the aims of the Alumni Desk is also to address the difficulties of individual alumnus in distress or in need of help.

To keep a strong network amongst all alumni, you all must interact with the Alumni Desk who can act as a noddle point to facilitate inter connectivity.

Functions:

The Function of the Alumni desk will be a two way process -keeping the interest and the involvement of our Alumni on one hand and on the other highlighting the development, progress and the present needs of the Foundation. The initial work of the desk will be the hard task of collecting datas of the alumni and other information through whatever old records available with us. Once this is achieved to an extent, the Desk will start making communication with all alumni so traced and then gradually build up a strong net of close contacts and mutual trusts.

With the view to achieve the objectives, the Desk will share information through publications and periodicals about the on-going developments in the Foundation. In addition, it can keep all concerned updated of the proposals and information regarding the urgent needs that keep arising while strengthening ourselves in achieving the said objectives. Another important function will be to come to the rescue of an Alumnus in distress or in need of help. Other subsidiary functions will be to organize meetings, get together of alumni, and facilitate contacts amongst the alumni. The Alumni Desk can also help set up the “Alumni Association” in your area if there exist good number of ex-students.

How To Contact:

To set up a good contact, it is important that we get to know you and where you live. Our records are old and not much of a help to trace your present whereabouts. You could be in a better position to let us know where your batch mates or ex students are presently living. Your personal involvement is vital to the success of our effort. Your association with us does not necessarily mean that you need to contribute anything right now. The information you send is what we need most at the moment.
